Revel in Game of Thrones before Season 7 Concludes August 27, 2017

What do you love best about HBO’s Game of Thrones? There’s so much, right? The hit series has succeeded in keeping viewers riveted. There are seven episodes in Season 7, and they were filmed mostly in Northern Ireland, Spain, and Iceland. The season’s end is coming soon, on August 27, 2017. Let’s take a few moments to revel in the intrigue that is Game of Thrones.

From the Beginning

Game of Thrones is based on the book series A Song of Ice and Fire by George R. R. Martin. David Benioff and D. B. Weiss adapted the series for television. The first episode premiered on April 17, 2011. The first pilot was scrapped for a variety of good reasons. For instance, it was not in any way clear that Jaime and Cersei are brother and sister—a huge plot point! Some major role changes were made between Pilot version 1 and the official first aired episode. For instance, Michelle Fairley and Emilia Clarke as Catelyn Stark and Daenerys Targaryen replaced Jennifer Ehle and Tamzin Merchant.

Linguist David J. Peterson, in conjunction with HBO, created the Dothraki language spoken on the show. A conversational language course teaching this dialect was released in 2014. Take the Living Language class and you could speak Dothraki in time to understand it for yourself before the current season ends.

It was in those first 10 episodes of Season 1 that viewers became glued to the drama unfolding on the continent of Westeros. The show was nominated for 13 Emmy Awards and won two. In 2016, Game of Thrones became the most awarded scripted series in the history of Emmies, with a total of 38 wins, breaking the record of 37 previously held by Frasier.

Plus Dragons

There is one thing about this addictive series that sucks for millions of people, and it’s that it doesn’t air on a basic channel that everyone gets. Just hearing about this show with dragons and irresistible plot lines is reason enough for countless people to subscribe to the required channel. Whether you are a wannabe or among the hordes of Games of Thrones viewers, the dragons may be your favorites, though the cast is undeniably exemplary. Get a Mother of Dragons t-shirt. You will thrill some and confuse others every time you wear it long after Season 7 ends.
